IED recovered on highway near Batra, search operation continues
Delhi. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has foiled the terrorist conspiracy to terrorize Jammu. Police have recovered the IED on the Jammu-Srinagar highway near Batra Hospital. On the highway, the terrorists had planted a timer fitted ID in a black box.
The information of which was received by the police in time. The bomb disposal squad of the police reached the spot on time and defused the IED by taking it to a safe place.
The search operation of the police and army is going on in the surrounding areas.
According to the information received from the police, people got apprehensive after seeing a suspicious black colored box in a garbage can on the highway near Batra Hospital in Siddha and they immediately informed the police about it. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot. Meanwhile, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli also reached there with the team. Seeing the box, he also got apprehensive. He directed the security forces to immediately stop the movement of vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Vehicular movement on the highway was stopped on both sides and the Bomb Disposal Squad was informed. Bomb disposal squad personnel took the box out of the dustbin and took it to a safe place and opened it. The terrorists had installed IEDs with timer in the compartment. The soldiers involved in the team very safely exploded the IED and made it inactive. After neutralizing the IED, the security forces have started a search operation in the surrounding area. The police suspect that the terrorists who planted the IED are hiding somewhere nearby. People are also being questioned.
