America made changes in L1 visa, these people cannot apply
Big blow to owners of sole proprietorship company
America changed the rules
Not eligible for L1 foreign worker visa
New Delhi (Dex). America has taken a big decision regarding people getting L1 foreign worker visa. The US on Friday said that any person who owns a sole proprietorship company is not eligible for L1 foreign worker visa.
L1 foreign workers will not be eligible for visas.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has clarified in the new guideline that the owner of a sole proprietorship company cannot apply for L1 foreign worker visa. He said this decision has been taken because the owner of a sole proprietorship company does not exist as a legal entity.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has also clarified its policy regarding other blanket petitions. The international organizations have filed the L-1 petition on behalf of all the individual entities named in the petition.
USCIS is updating its policy guidelines to clarify that filing another full petition does not circumvent the 3-year waiting period before filing a petition, a press release said.
What is L-1 visa?
Let us tell you that L-1 is a work visa, which is issued to people willing to work in America. This visa is issued only to those who are working on behalf of a company in another country. If those people want to get transferred to America then they apply for L-1 visa.
However, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has changed its policy. According to their new policy, sole proprietorship company owners cannot apply for L-1.
